Dr. Claude H. Richmond
Biography and Memberships
 
Claude H. Richmond is the former Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Kamloops riding and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. In addition, he served as Minister of Employment and Income Assistance and chaired the Cabinet Committee on Social Programs. Previously, Dr. Richmond was the Managing Director of the Kamloops Airport. He and a partner created Total Entertainment, a successful, part-time enterprise that introduced big name entertainment to Kamloops, including names such as Bill Cosby, Johnny Cash, and The Lippizon Stalions. Dr. Richmond was also a member of the Canadian Air Force. In his personal life, he has been a member and Bandmaster of the Kamloops Rube Band for 60 years. He is a former Alderman with the Kamloops City Council, a former Director of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce, and a private, multi-engine pilot. Dr. Richmond currently serves as a public member of the Law Society. Dr. Richmond received an Honourary Doctorate of Laws from Thompson Rivers University.
