Separated
You are separated when you start living separate and apart from your spouse or common-law partner because of a breakdown in the relationship for a period of at least 90 days and you have not reconciled. Refer to marital status for more information



You share custody of a child if the child lives with two different individuals in separate residences on a more or less equal basis. Both individuals must be considered primarily responsible for the child's care and upbringing when the child lives with them.

Line 23600 on your tax return and/or world income (if applicable). If your net income is negative, enter '0'.



Line 23600 on your spouse’s or common-law partner's tax return and/or world income (if applicable). If your spouse’s or common-law partner's net income is negative, enter '0'.



Income claimed by you or your spouse or common-law partner (line 11700 and line 12500 of your or your spouse's or common-law partner’s tax return). If field left blank, we will assume it is zero.



Repayment claimed by you or your spouse or common-law partner (line 21300 and line 23200 of your or your spouse's or common-law partner’s tax return). If field left blank, we will assume it is zero.

The annualized amount shown is the total of 12 monthly B.C. Child Opportunity Benefit payments made during the benefit year beginning July 2020 and ending June 2021. The B.C. Child Opportunity Benefit starts to be paid in October 2020 resulting in nine monthly payments during that benefit year. The total B.C. benefits receivable in this benefit year will be the total of the three B.C. Early Childhood Tax Benefit payments paid monthly before October 2020 and the B.C. Child Opportunity Benefit payments paid monthly after September 2020.




If you’re eligible for the B.C. Early Childhood Tax Benefit, you will continue to receive that benefit until October 2020 when the B.C. Child Opportunity Benefit replaces it.
If you’re eligible for the B.C. Child Opportunity Benefit, you will receive it if your child is registered for the federal Canada Child Benefit. If your child is not registered for the Canada Child Benefit, you’ll need to apply for it.
