Heather McDonald currently acts as a part-time Consultant assisting employers and their lawyers in these areas. She was a member of the Law Society of British Columbia for 37 years, practising for over 30 years as an administrative tribunal decision-maker on tribunals involved in labour relations, workers’ compensation, freedom of information/privacy and professional regulatory issues. She is also the co-author of "Workers’ Compensation in British Columbia", a comprehensive legal textbook available from LexisNexis Canada. Currently, she is a member of the BC Council of Administrative Tribunals and formerly one of their instructors. Active in the community, she is the Chair of the Richmond Family & Youth Court Committee and a member of the board of directors of Connections Community Services Society. She enjoys running and volunteering with the Forever Young Club and singing with other sopranos in the Richmond Orchestra and Chorus. She is also a published writer of short fiction, an important part of her life. Ms. McDonald holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia.
