Doug LePard recently retired from his position as Chief Officer with the Metro Vancouver Transit Police. Mr. LePard served in the Vancouver Police Department for 35 years, retiring as Deputy Chief. He currently serves as Director for the International Society for the Reform of Criminal Law. Previously, he served as a Board Member for the Transit Police Board and as a Committee member for the Advisory Committee on Judicial Appointments for BC. His awards include an Attorney General’s award for service to victims, a Lieutenant Governor’s medal for bravery, recognition from the Ending the Violence Association of BC “For Outstanding Contributions Towards Ending Violence Against Women in BC”, a medal from the International Society for the Reform of Criminal Law, and the Governor General’s medal for academic excellence. In 2012 he was invested by the Governor General as an Officer of the Order of Merit for the Police Forces, and in 2013 was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University and an Master of Arts from the University of the Fraser Valley.
