Stewart Lamon is an inpatient general psychiatrist for the St. Joseph’s Hospital. Previously, Mr. Lamon was a mental health physician in Port Alberni and a clinical director for the psychiatry unit for the Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace, BC. In the past, Dr. Lamon worked in family practice locums in rural areas such as Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and Merritt, BC. He also worked in an indigenous community in Ile a la Crosse, Saskatchewan. Dr. Lamon is a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, the Canadian Mental Health Association, the BC Medical Association and the Canadian Medical Protective Association. He completed his Doctor of Medicine and his premedical studies in biology both from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Lamon holds his Bachelor of Education and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. In addition, he completed his enhanced skills training in psychiatry from the University of BC and his Certification in Family Medicine from Dalhousie University.
