Rick Turner was an English teacher in the public school system for many years in Kamloops. He was previously the president of the Kamloops Thompson Teacher Association. Mr. Turner has also been a counsellor and teacher in Haida Gwaii earlier in his career. Active within his community, he served on various boards and committees, developing his experience with standards of practice and performance, examination of ethical questions, and maintaining the integrity of his profession as well as the confidence of the public. Mr. Turner has served as president and board director of the Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society, co-chair of the B.C. Health Coalition and a member of its steering committee, and vice president and editor of Kamloops Harley Owners Group. He holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia.
