Tess Acton is a lawyer who works with people all around the world on their immigration, refugee, and Canadian citizenship law matters. Currently, she works as an Associate Lawyer at Embarkation Law Corporation. She represents clients with all types of permanent and temporary applications to Canada, including family sponsorship applications and appeals, refugee hearings and appeals, Federal Court applications, humanitarian and compassionate applications, temporary and permanent resident applications, and applications and appeals with criminal, security, and medical admissibility issues. Ms. Acton is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, and the Canadian Association for Refugee and Forced Migration Studies. She is the Vice Chair of the Excellence in Literacy Foundation, a Director of the Georgia Strait Alliance, and an active volunteer with Access Pro Bono. She obtained her law degree from the University of Ottawa and her Master of Laws from the University of Victoria.
