| For comparative purposes, figures for prior years have been restated to be consistent with the presentation used in 1997/98. Revenue amounts exclude dedicated revenue collected on behalf of, and transferred to, Crown corporations and agencies. |
| To conform to the 1997/98 budget estimates, revenue has been restated to show commissions and/or remunerations received by businesses or agents for services relating to the administration, collection, and management of revenue and accounts on behalf of the government as authorized under various statutes/regulations. Previously, certain revenue amounts were presented net of collection commissions and fees. This restatement does not affect the total revenue figures each year. |
| For comparative purposes, revenue has been restated to reflect an accounting change in 1993/94 to record personal income tax on an accrual basis. This change also affects Canada health and social transfer revenue as the amount of the entitlement is determined by deducting a tax transfer of 13.5 points of personal income tax and one point of corporate income tax. Revenue includes actual and estimated amounts due to the province regardless of when the cash is received. |
| The 1997/98 budget estimate reflects the expectation that a portion of the hotel room tax will be dedicated to a new tourism initiative. |
| The British Columbia Endowment Fund was dissolved effective June 30, 1995. |
| Includes estimated revenue to be realized through dispositions of assets resulting from reviews of government properties, agencies and other assets to identify those assets surplus to government's needs. |
| Includes British Columbia Building Corporation, British Columbia Rail Company, British Columbia Systems Corporation, WLC Developments Ltd. and other Crown corporations. |
| In 1996/97, the federal government introduced the Canada health and social transfer, replacing the former established programs financing and Canada assistance plan programs. |
