The Board Resourcing and Development
Office (BRDO) continues to receive many requests for advice from public
sector organizations engaged in the re-examination of their
governance practices. This heightened interest in governance
review is strongly endorsed by the Government of British Columbia:
it reflects the dynamism of board leadership in BC; it reveals
a willingness to explore new ideas about best practice; and
it demonstrates a clear commitment to public accountability
and open disclosure. Rather than respond piecemeal to individual
inquiries, the BRDO has taken a more generic first step by
developing the Best Practice Guidelines.
The BRDO welcomes your comments and invites any proposals
you might have about how the BRDO could assist your organization
or your sector acquire additional information on corporate
governance. Contact us.
