Financial Services and Administration

Financial Services and Administration provides the following core business services:

Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting - provides information to Executive and program areas in the areas of budget development, monthly and three-year forecasting, financial reporting, Chart of Accounts maintenance as well as financial advice and assistance.

Performance Management - oversees the development of performance management frameworks for clients and coordinates service plan development at the ministry and divisional levels.

Accounting Services - provides expert advice on policies and procedures related to financial issues including fixed assets and leave liability. This area also acts as a liaison between the Office of the Comptroller General and program areas for various initiatives and coordinates fiscal year end activities.

Enterprise Risk Management - coordinates the implementation of risk management within client ministries in accordance with Core Policy Manual requirements. The processes, structures and cultures established provide organizations with an enhanced capacity to manage potential opportunities and minimize adverse effects.

Financial Processing - offers clients a range of services such as processing accounts payable and general ledger transactions into the corporate financial accounting system, processes accountable advances, relocation expenses, contracts, fiscal year end, deposit of public funds, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, BTA, Amex and Purchase card administration, government parking program administration.

Financial Systems & Policy Support - provides clients with corporate financial system support including security administration; regular, ad hoc and custom financial reports from several of government's financial and human resource information systems; policy interpretation and advice; signing authority administration; technical training and FSA Web site management.

Facilities - manages the planning and budgeting of buildings and infrastructure requirements on behalf of clients. Other services include Telecommunications and Business Continuity Planning which works to protect the safety of staff and ensure that clients are able to provide mission critical services in the event of a catastrophic loss.

Minister's Office Support Services - provides financial and administrative support services to Minister's Offices.
