NAME RESERVATION AND PARTNERSHIPS The Names/Partnership Unit is responsible for the approval of all names to be used for corporations, proprietorships, partnerships, societies, cooperatives and financial institutions and also to register sole proprietorships, partnerships and limited partnerships.
Manager, Registries Programs Debbie Turner CORPORATE SEARCH AND PHOTOCOPY The Corporate Search Section is responsible for satisfying all corporate (including societies and cooperative associations) search requests including general searches, copywork from corporate files, certified copy work, letters under seal and certificates of good standing.
Manager, Registries Programs Debbie Turner The Corporations Unit is responsible for the registration of extraprovincial companies; examination and filing of maintenance documents for extraprovincial companies and some filings for B.C. companies; and to perform system updates to reflect those filings. The unit processes all documents submitted for the voluntary dissolution, liquidation, continuations out of the province and restoration of companies, societies and other incorporated entities including the striking of these entities that have failed to submit statutory filings with the registrar.
Manager, Registries Programs Valerie Adam The Societies and Cooperatives Section is responsible for incorporating and maintaining non-profit organizations and cooperative associations under the Society Act and Cooperative Association Act. Every society and cooperative association has responsibilities as required by their respective acts.
The Administration Unit is responsible for mail operations, receipt and recording of revenue, distribution of incoming documents and all administration functions for the Registries including telecommunications, office moves and procurement. In addition, this unit is responsible for the records management function of the Registries. This includes one million active and historical files, some of which date back to 1860. These files represent the official public record of legal entities in British Columbia.
The Financial Operations Unit is responsible for processing manual refunds for the Registries and handling all client refund enquiries.
