Policy and Legislation

The Policy and Legislation Division is responsible for financial and corporate sector policy, competitive tax policy, and equitable federal-provincial fiscal relations. This includes taxation policy, providing analysis and advice on federal-provincial fiscal relations, developing legislative and regulatory frameworks for British Columbia's financial and corporate sectors, improving the fairness and competitiveness of the provincial tax system and coordinating the ministry's non-budget legislative process. As well, the Division supports well informed decisions by the Minister of Finance and prepares significant components of the annual provincial budget. The division consists of three branches:
